He gets immensesupported by his loving mum and has really some great friends. The showbeautifully depicts his journey to be a sensation which involves beating thebullies and coming out of the darkness into the spotlight.

The showfeatures some great songs by Dan Gillespie Sells, lead singer-songwriter of TheFeeling, and writer Tom MacRae. The role of Jamie is reprised by John McCrea whois an Olivier nominated for Best Actor in a Musical  alongside the majority of the originalSheffield Crucible cast such as Josie Walker as Margaret New. The spectacularnew British musical is a complete treat for westend theatre.

Once adocumentary film maker, Firecracker Films was approached by Jamie Campbell ifthey would help him tell his story. They made a film, Jamie: Drag Queen At 16and was noticed by a theatre director. He was inspired to create a musicalunder the spectacular production of regional theatre (Sheffield Theatres).

In the year2017, the show won two UK Theatre Awards which includes Best Musical Productionand Best Musical Performance (for John McCrea in the title role). The hugely anticipatedWest End transfer is enjoyed by theatre lovers from all across the globe. Theimmensely loved show is  nominated forfive Olivier Awards in 2018, including Mastercard Best New Musical.

Everybody’sTalking About Jamie is directed by Jonathan Butterell, who saw the documentaryfilm in question. This inspired him to create Everybody’s Talking About Jamie,a dramatised portrayal of a period in Jamie’s life which defined him as asensation.
